So, you don't have an instant messenger...

In order to allow HotVisitor to check your availability and have people contact you, you need some type of software on your PC. The easiest solution that also provides you with the ability to be available from your smartphone is by using a free Gmail or Microsoft Hotmail/Live account, and then installing their clients.


It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes!


In several cases, we have seen clients who already use an instant messenger, choose to install another one just for HotVisitor. In this way, they can easily separate their business activity from their friends, and decide when they want to be available to customers / friends.


Gmail instructions:


  1. If you don't have a Gmail email account, Go to www.gmail.com. Click on "Create New Account".
  2. Go to http://www.google.com/talk/. Click on "Download Google Talk".
  3. Install the software, and sign in with your Gmail username and password.

Hotmail/Live instructions:


  1. Go to http://signup.live.com/. Get a Live ID with your existing email address.
  2. In Windows, check for the existance of the MSN Messenger, login with your Live ID and configure it to "automatically sign in".
